The Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary invites applications for term certain Sessional Instructor positions for the Spring 2020 term in Educational Research and Educational Psychology. Sessional instructors will teach on-campus and/or online graduate courses that are integral parts of the graduate programs in the Werklund School of Education. Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) has over 1000 graduate students registered in seven (7) specializations. GPE is proud of the high-quality graduate programs delivered in both face-to-face and online formats. Its programs are characterized by a strong learner focus, flexibility, technological innovation, and responsiveness to community desire for accreditation, certification, lifelong learning, and rigorous scholarship.
Educational Research: Educational Research consists of Educational Studies in Adult Learning, Curriculum and Learning, Language and Literacy, Leadership, and the Learning Sciences. Desired qualifications include a completed doctorate in education or a related area, evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in school, university, or workplace settings, demonstrated experience in online/distance education, and capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture. Knowledge and understanding of the graduate programs and specializations in Educational Research will also be considered as assets for the sessional teaching positions.
Educational Psychology: Educational Psychology consists of Educational Studies in Counselling Psychology and in School and Applied Child Psychology. Desired qualifications include a completed doctorate in psychology or a related field, registration as a psychologist, evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in workplace, university or school settings, demonstrated experience in online/distance education for courses delivered online or in a blended format, and capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture. Knowledge and understanding of the programs and specializations in Educational Psychology will also be considered as assets for the sessional teaching positions.
Sessional positions are offered on a per course basis. The amount of remuneration is calculated according to the Collective Agreement, Schedule B.
